The Puri temple, also known as the Jagannath Temple, is a Hindu temple located in the city of Puri in the eastern Indian state of Odisha. The temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu, and is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus. The inner sanctum of the temple houses three wooden deities - Lord Jagannath, his brother Lord Balabhadra, and their sister Subhadra. The idols are made of neem wood and are replaced with new ones every 12 years in a ritual called "Nabakalebara". The idols are not accessible to the public, and only the priests are allowed to offer prayers and perform rituals. The temple complex also includes several other shrines, halls, and courtyards.
